It is with regret that the Town Council and Uttoxeter Knights have to announce that, due to lack of interest by stallholders, there will not be a Victorian Market this year.
Jack Inman of Uttoxeter Knights stated that “despite contacting over 50 potential stallholders and sending reminders only 6 responded with a booking. The weather last year being a factor in decisions made by the stallholders. I am very disappointed that we had to make the decision to cancel this year’s Victorian Market.
The Mayor, Councillor Alan Noyes said “It is terribly disappointing that we shall not have a Victorian Market following the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Uttoxeter. Hopefully, the Market will take place again in 2017.
The Clerk, Tina Jeffery confirmed that the Christmas Lights shall be switched on at 5.00 pm by Uttoxeter’s Olympic Gold and Silver Medallist Adam Peaty together with the assistance of the Town Mayor and four local School children on Friday, 25 November 2016. Father Christmas and his reindeer shall be in attendance together with Ashbourne Radio. Celebrations start at 4.45 pm outside the Town Hall
