Two new major pieces of public art have been installed on two of the Town’s roundabouts. The Centaur and Bull sculptures have been created by internationally renowned Artist, Andy Scott.
The sculptures are made from galvanised, welded steel dipped in molten zinc to protect them from the elements. The sculptures form part of the second phase of the Uttoxeter Regeneration Programme, designed to raise the profile of the town and attract visitors to the area.
The sculptures were funded by developer contributions together with Section 106 environmental improvement schemes promoting landscaping and public art. The roundabouts have been sympathetically planted with ornamental grasses, Stipa Gigantea and Stipa Tenuissima ‘Pony Tails’, giving the impression of the sculptures being sited within a field.
