Uttoxeter Town Council submitted an application into ‘Round Two’ to become a ‘Portas Pilot’ after the Government, in conjunction with shopping guru, Mary Portas, launched a £1million competition to help support struggling towns and cities across the country. Unfortunately, Uttoxeter was unsuccessful within both rounds of the funding allocations where 12 towns were awarded a shared £1million to help turn around the fortunes of the Town’s High Street.
Although the applications were unsuccessful, the Town Council and the Town Team shall continue to try and promote and enhance the High Street and town centre within our Town.
