HIGH STREET BOLLARD TO BE REINSTATED IN APRIL 2017

HIGH STREET BOLLARD TO BE REINSTATED IN APRIL 2017

As announced in December 2016, Uttoxeter Town Council shall be responsible for the monitoring of the retractable bollard located within the Town’s High Street.

At this time, the Town Council and Staffordshire County Council are working on a number of matters for the re-commissioning of the bollard for the High Street and it is anticipated that the bollard shall be recommissioned during April 2017. This date is subject to a number of necessary works taking place prior to the recommissioning.

As in accordance with the existing Traffic Order, Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 vehicles are not permitted access into the High Street between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm with the exception of authorised and emergency service vehicles.

The Traffic Order permits access into the High Street for loading/unloading goods to premises located on the High Street between the hours of 8.00am-10.00am and between 4.00pm-6.00pm daily. Disabled badge holders shall be permitted access during these times only together with hackney carriages for the purposes of picking up or setting down passengers. This permits the High Street to be pedestrianised between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm.
