Help Protect Uttoxeter’s Nature

Uttoxeter Town Council is concerned about the reduction in the number and variety of plants and animals in Uttoxeter, and believes that residents and local organisations share that concern and want to protect our nature

The Council has set up a committee to take a lead on protecting nature, called the “Uttoxeter Nature Recovery Network”. The committee wants to involve everyone in protecting nature and has written a consultation document to get everyone thinking about how best to do this. The consultation document is called “Building a Uttoxeter Nature Recovery Network”, and this document is attached to this letter/email.

The document contains questions about how best to help nature in Uttoxeter. We want to hear your views. Please cascade this information to your members/Friends!

Consultation Period and How to Respond: We are consulting with residents and organisations from 2 March to 30 March, and you can respond to the consultation by:

• Completing the form in the consultation document and returning it to the Town Hall
• Emailing your comments to info@uttoxetertowncouncil.org.uk  with the heading “Biodiversity”
• Clicking on this link Biodiversity E-Questionnaire which will take you to an electronic questionnaire

You are also invited to attend our Consultation Meeting which will take place from 2pm-4pm on 11 March at Uttoxeter Town Hall – Please email  info@uttoxetertowncouncil.org.uk  or phone 01889 564085 to confirm your attendance.

How your replies will help: A summary of the responses will be considered by the UNRN and we will use your replies to develop a detailed action plan to help protect wildlife and make Uttoxeter a greener town.  We want people to help so we are asking people to let us know whether they support the plans and whether they or their organisation can help in some way. 

By responding to the consultation, you can help make Uttoxeter an even better town and help our wildlife survive and flourish.
