An Evening Of Jazz
The Mayoress is hosting ‘An Evening of Jazz’ at Uttoxeter Town Hall on Saturday, 1 March, 2014. The Council is fortunate to have playing the Staffordshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, a collection of talented Jazz Musicians from across the County conducted by Nigel Beer a Senior Lecturer in Music and Popular Music at the University of Wolverhampton and supported by Entrust formerly Staffordshire Performing Arts. After the success of last year’s Jazz Concert the Mayoress was so impressed she felt it was important to make it an annual event to be brought to the Town Hall to be enjoyed by lovers of Jazz and hopefully those new to this genre of music.
SYJO will be supported by the Jazz Trio from Uttoxeter Musicians Centre. The trio formed by musicians from the centre with pupils coming from Oldfields Hall Middle School and Thomas Alleynes High School, show that Jazz has a healthy future with the younger generation.
In addition Nigel will be performing with fellow professional musicians to bring to Uttoxeter a complete Jazz experience.
A bar will be available, come and enjoy the music and the company of fellow music lovers and make it an evening to remember.
The doors open at 7.30 pm with the music commencing at 8.00 pm. Tickets are available from the Town Hall and the Musicians Centre, Bridge Street. Tickets are £6.00 for adults and £4.00 concessions.
