Regarding our work on the A50 between Doveridge and Blythe Bridge, the work did not start as planned following feedback we received about the diversion route. We’ve now pushed the start date back and reviewed our diversion routes to help reduce disruption for nearby villages. We’ll also have extra signage advising drivers to follow the signposted diversion route and not follow their satnavs to deter them from cutting through the villages and using less suitable routes.
Our work will now take place from Monday 28 September to Friday 30 October 2026, on weeknights, from 8pm to 5am. During this time we’ll work under the following closures:
28 September to 20 October – A50 westbound Doveridge Bypass closed from Ashbourne Interchange to the A518 Derby Road Roundabout and A50 westbound Uttoxeter bypass closed from the A522 junction to Tean Roundabout.
12 October to 30 October – A50 Doveridge Bypass eastbound closed from the A518 Derby Road roundabout to Ashbourne Interchange.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may lead to changes.
