Thank you to everyone who came along to the Christmas Lights Switch On and to all who made the evening such a success.
The evening commenced with the Annual Commendation Awards. This year the awards were presented to Lynne Shelton and Pauline Wilson.
This event was followed by a visit from Santa, who, along with the Town Mayor, awarded gifts to the four deserving children from Uttoxeter’s First Schools. The children enjoyed a sleigh ride through the High Street pulled by one of Santa’s very special reindeer. Rudolf could not make the evening as he was resting in readiness for his busy night booked for Christmas Eve!Â
Fountains Signing Choir were pitch perfect and the crowds were thoroughly entertained.
Many of you took up the opportunity of having your photograph taken with the lovely reindeer and donations received from this will be sent to The Air Ambulance.
A clear dry night was forecast, and it go even more Christmassy as snow began to fall right over the Town Hall – it hadn’t been forecast but what a lovely surprise and it made the atmosphere even more magical!
So many people were involved in bringing the evening to fruition …. Thank you to the town’s First Schools four deserving children, Fountains Signing Choir, Uttoxeter Knights, SJL Landscapes, The Town Crier, Santa, Black Mountain Reindeer LTD, City Illuminations, McDonalds, Walter Tippers Ltd, all the traders who had a stall, the residents of Uttoxeter and visitors to the town for attending.
Uttoxeter Town Council hope you all enjoyed the evening and that you enjoy the wonderful Christmas Lights. The town looks very festive.
