Uttoxeter Town Council

A50 Resurfacing Work

Balfour Beatty is carrying out resurfacing works on behalf of National Highways along the A50, between Doveridge and Blythe Bridge. These works are being carried out to ensure the A50 continues to meet the required maintenance standards as National Highways take full operation of the route.

Our work will take place from Tuesday 8 September to Friday 25 September 2026, on weeknights, from 8pm to 5am.

During this time, we will have two full westbound carriageway closures in place between Doveridge and Blythe Bridge as follows:

Doveridge Bypass closed from Ashford Interchange to the Marston Lane junction

Uttoxeter Bypass closed from the A522 junction Tean Roundabout

The following diversion route will be in place to navigate both closures:

Where it is safe to do so, access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained in emergency situations.

We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may lead to changes.
